AM2 is the new dual-core 64-bit line from AMD. However, the new Intel Conroe dual-cores are proving to be better value (and I'm a strong AMD supporter).
Aspersie, if you're on a budget (say, less than R7,000), then I'd stick to the 4000+. It's the best of the standard single-core AMD's. If you're a serious overclocker, you could look for an Opteron CPU and go crazy. Otherwise, go with the 4000+ for now. the top gfx cards are the 7950GX from NV and the ATI X1900XTX, but that's ridiculously expensive. I honestly doubt that people can see any difference in actual gaming, from a good mid-range card. In the R2,500 - R3,500 range I vote for the 7900GT (although there are some factory overclocked models which weren't stable). Just use that Antec PSU, together with your 4000+ and 2Gb of branded DDR400 (Kingmax, Kingston, Corsair, but I avoid Legend or JetRam) and you'll be smiling.
On a tighter budget, the 7600GT is good value at about R2,000.
On the dual-core front, the current X2 4400+ is slightly pricey at almost R4,000 but it is a dream for doing several things simultaneously.
For a standard gaming PC, able to play anything on the market including F.E.A.R, Oblivion and BF2 (not simultaneously!) at 1600x1200 4xAA/4xAF, the 4000+, 2Gb DDR400 and a 7900GT will be fine.
But that's just my 2c
