Well I used to frequent this site every day to support those that are trying to make a difference with the shocking state of our ADSL services. Day after day I would read how Telkom was doing this or not doing that and how the service was shocking. It however never really seemed to come to much more than this. The last time I was on there was talk that we would have a Telkom representative on this site and a meeting was held with the head of Telkom and thing would change.

Boy how things have changed since then. I upgraded to the 1024 up to 8k dial-up option now I am at a stage where the ADSL seems to be at its worst ever basically unusable with the same run around when you try and report it.

Does it just get worse as the time progresses with no accountability? Do we just carry on bitching here and paying the high costs? I for one am at the stage where it seems a better option just to go back to dial-up. At least here you got what you were paying for. I would obtain a constant speed of around 53k. None of this wanting to do business on the net and halfway into editing a site it just stops and you are left with a half done site for the next couple of hours until you may be lucky to get some type of connection.

Boy I am so tried of this setup it just is not true and I suppose this is just another rant to add to the long list going nowhere.

I feel that my internet has improved alot, with Telkom Closer and 4Mbit.

I have 2x TelkomInternet accounts and a 30GB local only for all my IS News Server needs. IS Servers might not be the fastest for the latest stuff available, but new files are mostly cached and can be downloaded perfectly, most of the time faster than international torrents.

I am not 100% happy with price/international cap at the moment, but I am also not totally disgusted anymore with the general service.

Yes it did improve and I was suitably impressed for a while, I actually felt like I finally had broadband. However it did not last that long until the wheels fell off closely followed by the motor, windscreen wipers, doors and the rest of the vehicle carrying my packets

However right now its quite speedy so I am making use of it while it lasts.:D

We're still paying an extortionate amount for a sub-par service no matter how you look at it.
