So its safe to assume then that JASA actively PAID for a subscription to the adult channels and then entered the required pin to be able to watch them?

My original sentiment still remains, JASA can fsck off and stop trying to control what I as an adult have access to on my TV, if they have a problem with it then they can cancel their subscription.

JASA is nothing but a bunch of Christians pushing their dogma under the auspices of justice. Look at their Constitution, they want Judo-Christian values instilled in everyone. In my view, they should not even locus standi to bring such an application.

In that same line, can we have responsible, healthy drug taking? Lets say, one line per week or 5 joints per month?

if you have to have a pin as well then im not sure what the fuss is about...if parents are so fsuckn negligent then that's a separate issue.

“These programmes are promoting infidelity, unsafe sex, and not what was represented to the Independent Communications Authority of SA (Icasa) and the public,” Cooke said.

The true content of the material wasn’t told to Icasa. They acted under a misapprehension and therefore they took irrelevant considerations into account.”
So which is it? Did they make a representation about the content or not?

It seems Icasa as usual simply made assumptions but imo it's not up to them to decide what we should watch. Allow a competitive market for once seeing as you failed to put regulations in place to break MC's monopoly.

As I understand it the pin in to activate it the first time. Really useless as it doesn't add extra security after the subscriber verified their details and asked to activate the service. We had the same fuss over Big Brother when Dstv showed it the first time even though you have to be eighteen for Dstv and request it to be activated. The issue is again not what people's children have access to but people trying to decide what other people's children should possibly have access to. It's not something that will hold up if it comes to the constitutional court.

Let Jasa waste their money on it though. It means less to spend on actual real cases.

Usual underhanded language.

and healthy females who were not young or underaged.
They are well aware the ' actresses ' will not be underage.

These programmes are promoting infidelity, unsafe sex
Yup, just like many many tv series and movies - which they probably allow their kids to watch.

this was not the case and that children had been put at risk.
Children are only put at risk by parents who don't control what they watch.

The child is already devastated by what he is seen.
Emotive much ? Are they showing snuff movies ?

I think this guy said it best.

Some people simply want it banned because it depicts something they don't agree with.

JASA ( John Smythe ? ) on 567 Cape Talk -

Parents who watch porn are mostly irresponsible parents.

Where do these people come from ?
