Edit: Also, about the dogs being racist, you don't have to look no further than Stormfront South Africa (I know it's your favorite board, don't lie)... but I was looking at this and it's rather disturbing what blacks do to animals, especially dogs... http://www.stormfront.org/forum/showthread.php?t=339767 (warning, the "K" word is used a lot). The sad thing is, the dog later died from the prior abuse :(.

You sound like the biggest idiot I have ever heard in my life (and incase you are wondering - I don't make a point of flaming people - so if i am misunderstanding something please point it out ...) - have you ever perhaps thought that higher levels of crime can be attributed to certain race groups because of how they were treated in the past landing them in a certain economic position now?

Oh ya - and I hate people who generalise

I would recommend http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Race_and_crime#Totally_Disputed

Is this really a view of many black South Africans? I thought everyone was as concerned about crime!!!

Surveys have shown that 'blacks' rate the priority of sorting out crime only slightly lower than what 'whites' rate it.

Not surprising, they're just as affected by it as everyone else is.

Edit: At least if "blacks" complain it'd be less easy for the government to twist it as a racist issue, maybe they'll actually start to do something about it, guess that's hoping too much though!

The Confederados, what's up with your political agenda? Why is it always these types of SA-bashing threads, and almost nothing else? Seriously, you seem to contribute to nothing except the degregation of what hope we have in South Africa. You've never even been to SA as I understand. Maybe you should look to your own backyard if there are social issues you wish to get involved in.

I think you are very wrong about this. 'Blacks' 'complain' just as much :D

Well his link to "Stormfront" pretty much confirmed my suspicions. Clearly he's trying to prove that the new dispensation is "bad" and therefore Apartheid, which seems to align quite nicely with his ideology was "good".

I know, doesn't seem to be making a difference though, so I guess that just proves the government's generally useless. No surprise there. Damn I'm starting to sound like Confederados!

I thought calling someone an idiot was an infractionable offence? Are there exceptions ....mmmm....I wonder ...? (not trying to start a fresh debate, just an observation)

I don't think we should start that old chestnut of blaming apartheid for crime. The most high-profile criminals are in parliament where they earn more than most of us here. There is something about this country that makes dishonesty more acceptable than elsewhere. Perhaps there is something more to it than economic factors. Is there something in the variuous cultures that triggers it? - the actual idea of property ownership - a hangover from pre-colonial times perhaps?

I seriously doubt anything he has said is true, particularly where he is from.

You think he's safe around other people though, especially kids? Always wonder if animals like that might "lose it" one day considering what they've been through previously.
Yeah - he feels safe so he's not likely to go nuts. I've had him for 5-6 years now and haven't had any problems.

Having been attacked by my dog (a stray from the shelter) when I was a kid I keep an eye open when my little one is playing any of the dogs and not necessarily just that one.

To be fair I think he accused him of "sounding like" one rather than actually being one.

@ confederados:

hmmmm...more anti SA crime pandemic garbage!

Funny how most 5 star Hotels in the US have dead bolt doors, safety latches, huge sliding pin door chains, armed security guards, camera's in every lift & corridor...and oh yeah a Safety tips (to prevent rape/murder) list posted on the back of the door, 911 on every phone and sealed windows on the ground floor.

C'mon dude. The US is the most paranoid country in the world...

What's the population of the US? It's all about crime per head. Our crime rate is far higher in these terms.

Why are you guys in such denial about crime? You guys need these threads shoved at you constantly so you will wake up. Do you know how many tourists you're going to harm that think your country is some "rainbow nation" paradise?
Then do you think you should go [-]away[/-] off and tell them?
