Bad 3G/HSDPA service

I hate whining but 2 months ago, I purchased a Huwei HSDPA card on a 2 year contract with a 500mb bundle....

I receive frequent disconnects, 619 and 678 errors, I cannot stay connected for more than a few minutes before the card disconnects and when I am connected the speed is laughable i.e. slower than a Telkom dialup. (Its taken me 30 mins to post this)

What I cannot understand is how I am expected me to pay R350 pm for this rubbish. As a consultant, I work primarily from home or client sites and my work is seriously impinged by being unable to stay connected to the network.

I did post this issue here a while back and someone from Vodacom (to his or her credit) asked what my location/address was and said that work was going to be done in this area to improve the signal, but I have seen no improvement whatsoever.

Can someone advise:

what legal (or other) recourse I may have ITO being contracted to a service vs the service being unable to deliver on said contract ( is there any consumer protection with regards to these 2 year contracts)

can I buy myself out of this contract in order to go with an MTN/Cell C solution and if so how?

Thks!

If Vodacom can't sort it out rather try prepaid MTN and Virgin sim cards to see which gives you the best service before you lock yourself in to another contract.
