Very strange: I was on a 4Mbps Uncapped and was getting my 4Mbps but since I've upgraded to 10Mbps my speedtest does not go over 3Mbps - when I used to be on a capped package I could get full 10Mbps - Every complaint to Telkom ends with them telling me its a "best effort service"

Wow, if only. I am just across the Ni to you in Monte Vista where I have an office close to the N1 and a home right on the northern side of Monte Vista. At both locations I have Telkom 4Mbs connections.

The office connection and speed are mostly constant at about 2.7Mbs to a max of 3.7Mbs. The home one is problematic indeed. Up until just recently if I got 2.3Mbs I was in heaven with the 2012 annual average sitting at 1.7Mbs.

29th October last year it dropped to 0.65Mbs and then shot up to 3.8Mbs everytime I complained, just to drop again a day or so later. This went on until early February this year (forced a refund from the idiots) Since then it has been varying from 2.4Mbs to 6Mbs on a good day.

Two weeks ago it dropped again this time to 0.8Mbs. Complained and it shot up to 7.5Mbs. Sunday (always after hours) it dropped again to 0.25Mbs. Bitched on the e-mail reporting system and suddenly I have 8.8Mbs. Don't mind them increasing the speed each time, but the downtime inbetween is more than a little irritating.

Variable speed with high latency. Ping speeds varies between 100ms and 400ms! Average download speed is 0.5Mb/s. Sometimes for very short bursts it will go up to 1Mb/s, sometimes (if I am extremely lucky) 1.5Mb/s but no higher. On other occasions the line will just pause. My browser will time out eventually or tell me that the website do not exist.

Afrihost 2048K Uncapped

There is no specific time this happens. It happens right through the day or night. The issue is always there!
I have complained and I have an reference number, but nothing has been done up to now.

Optional, but it will be great if you can also give the following information:
