"Important" British people want to go to India because of business interests... Unfortunately SA dropped off the "important" list a looooooong time ago.

Going to SA is for leisure (or family...) for Brits, so rather go to a safari in Kenya now (better airline too!).

Tit for tat only works when you have tits that people want ;)

Finally. The UK should still abolish the whole hotel quarantine policy entirely. Locking up many perfectly healthy people is a stain on any nation claiming it's a liberal democracy.

Good luck getting a flight when we are off the red list. In my immediate circle there is probably enough people wanting to travel to or from to fill half an aeroplane. Also doesn't help that we are approaching holidays.

And they're all that desperate to get away from the Brawler, finally?!

When last did you fly with them. They are a shell of themselves since the pandemic and have needed endless government bailouts (just like SAA). Now the new SAA and what's left of Kenya Airways want to partner up to create a PAN-African group

It's autumn in UK. Certainly a better time than summer... flight prices will come down in time as well , once the novelty has worn off.

Plus haven't flown SAA in over a decade.
BA or Virgin far cheaper( last flew return CT-LHR May '19 their early summer, think I paid £545.... Economy class of course with stopover in Jhb.

R57k return tickets. Ouch.
I bought two return tickets today from 30 Dec to 17 Jan (UK to ZA to UK) for £1130 with VA, so R22k. Wasn't my first choice though.

It's the greed of the airlines that's the issue. When I checked over weekend before SA was removed from red list, it was £1250 (R25k) return for 2 passengers from 14 Dec to 29 Dec. Today when I checked, it was £2100 (R42k) for exact same flights. They know people will now be flying so they pushed up all the prices.

They are milking the flights leading up to Xmas.
