I've become very irritated at the idiots that decide parking spaces in some centres,I drive a normal sized family sedan and yet i have to battle to get out of my car in many places and have to pay for the dings on my car doors because people needed to dent my car just to get out of theirs in these tight bays, when I visit these parking bays now I purposely park double and if the centre management bothers to question me about it I will send them the panel beaters bill for their stupid bay spacings.

Did they think everybody drives a Daihatsu.:wtf:

Here is how it works: Shopping centre developers have to provide a certain number of spaces per rentable square metres. They don't like to use up lots of space on parking spaces as it cuts into the rentable sq m. So they make them the minimm size the municipalities allow. The municipal regulations are are of date (no surprise here) and don't take into account the size of many of the modern cars. Just look at the size of the bakkies and 4x4 these days. Were they around 20 years ago (or whenever) the size of the parking bays was stipulated by the "authorities"? No.

Idjits - I do tend to be a hell of a lot more forgiving in these circumstances. That refurbished Victory Park centre being one of them, where parking is so narrow I struggle to get my Honda Jazz in and out.

I had someone park over the line the other day and he hit my car with his door, I really should have had a go at him but i feel bad to do that...

The Boulevard in Woodstock. Always a mess @ lunch, but that is no reason to use the disabled parking...

so, you force other people to struggle to find parking even though you realize before going to the shopping center, your car won't fit in the spaces?

:wtf:
