Bad Ping

My ping, since about the beginning of the month has basically doubled. Of course nobody is prepared to help. My Isp says contact Telkom and they just used the "no guarantee" policy.
Now I am trying to get evidence to show that there is a problem. Can any of you bright guys explain the following.

If I use Hypertrace to mweb, as an example, I get the following.

Now if I just trace to 196.43.10.150 I get the following.

Now to my way of thinking, it is that timeout that is slowing everything down.
The question is, what is happening there and how can it be fixed.

Hey,

I am from welkom, routed to jhb. Always had a 20 ping. My ping doubled to 55. It is now better again, back to normal.

Dont ask me what telkom is doing ? Happened a few times to me, lasts for 2/3 days and then gets back to normal.
