Bad SNL does not Cause Packet Loss

Bad SNL is definitely NOT the cause of packet loss. I had 4 days of consistent reasonable good speed, where pings give packet loss, BUT, while downloading on a single thread, the packets keep flowing in. The usual big dips and 2 second delays before speed tries to pick up, was NOT there. Now that is a reasonable amount of packet loss. NETSTAT -s gave an average of less than 0.01 to 1% packet loss, even though pings give up to 18%....

CONCLUSION:

EVEN ON A SNL OF -7, YOU CAN STILL GET ALL YOUR PACKETS. (One LED barely on)

Never believe Sentech when they blame your speed on a bad signal.

Oh, and then pings can look something like this:
Min/Avg/Max
78/120/650

If you have no interference in your area then it does not matter what SNL or Signal strength you have as the chances are as long as you can lock on, you will get a decent connection.
On the otherhand if you are in an area where there is interference you most certainly will have problems.
MySignal btw ignores any readings below -99 dBm as its just not worth the effort transforming and calculating readings below -99 dBm so in real terms a SNL of -7 is actually a SNL of +3 but as I say, it just not worth going there [:)]

Ohhhh, Hmmm. Gokay... Well currently RSCP is -105 and ISCP is -100... I dunno. I just wish ST can find that switch that they switched off when my SNL dropped from 8 to what it is now...
