Hi there,

Does anybody have video photage of the Bakkies and JP Nel incidents that can be uploaded to the net somewhere?

I didn't see the Bakkies incident and would like to see the JP Nel incident again.

SuperSport has put up an incident of the week video on the site for the previous two weeks but that is only because it involved a Sharks player. This week when a Bulls player is involved they don't put up videos of the incidents.

Thanks,

Mielie

Seen nothing on that one yet.
JP gets pinged a lot for rubbish though cause he goes in hard.
Would be swak to lose both their frontline centers though.

I am happy that Nel got 4 weeks although I don't think it was fair.

Now he can not cost the bulls the semis with a yellow cars or even the finals.... He has only himself to blame for his rep as a dirty player.

Like I said I don't think it is fair but if you look at his history then he has only himself to blame.

Now I am just worried they will pring Wayne "The Pain" Julies in to replace Wynand "Goldie Locks" Olivier. :(

History really has nothing to do with the merits of this specific case at all, which is what is being reviewed.

His tackle was legit, he was unlucky that Stephan ducked into it and copped one on the jaw, making him a bit dronk for a while.

It is pathetic in the extreme. I will be surprised if the Bulls do not appeal this.

It blows my mind that Kockott got a week for punching someone after the whistle blew, but JP gets 4 weeks for a swinging arm during a tackle! Don't get me wrong, his swinging arm technique is always border line and due to get him in trouble, but what type of message are the officials trying to send out: punching is sorta OK, but you better not swing your arm during a tackle???

I really don't get why they don't have guidelines for all types of dirty play and just enforce it.

Players are coached to try and dislodge the ball from the players grasp in the tackle this way, with the arm coming through.
It was in no way malicious, and that is what needs to be the focus of the hearing.
Sure, he connected Stephan in the jaw, but he ducked into it.

If JP had done that at shoulder height and above, I say bin him, supsend him even, but this tackle was legit.
The ref did nothing at the time and he was right next to JP, the touch judges did not raise a flag.
He was binned on a replay it seems after they stopped play and realized that Stephan was in lalaland.

I wonder if the people that are judging this have ever played this game.

Hopefully the decision on JP will be set aside tomorrow. It's utter rubbish. There was no intent and it was not high.

IMO JP had a couple of good matches this season (against the Sharks and Cheetahs).
