I do not agree with this ban on alcohol and cigs.
It just bothers me a lot so how much of an impact these things have on people.

You don't think there is a problem and until something is taken away. I have seen this with my own mom. I have never heard of anyone being so desperate for a cigarettes and that is really disturbing to me.

People willing to off themselves if they cannot get a cigarette is a product of a poorly thought out ban, not a result of cigarettes themselves. If you want people to quit then they have to make that decision for themselves, you cannot force them into doing it no matter how much you think it might be good for them.
