Stockpile running low or just looking for beer?
Want to make sure I have enough as doosdoek is going to make sure we run out. So I will take anything to build stock but not at the R700 odd that a Jameson is going for

Why is this moron going on about how people are smoking less - hello, you do know that's because we can't buy any !
People that are selling those kak illegal brands are making a killing. It's not hidden, and police rightfully don't think that it's worth there time to check whether the house shops are selling cigarettes, although they must know.

Thats why you can only share 100g zol and you are not alowed to zol next to a window or you can go to jail for 2 years.

One thing I found interesting with the covid response is that it appears local governments do not have much of a say; almost like they are following orders from national government. This is different to how the US, and Canada did things (the provinces/states were in control for the most of it).

Yup that is correct - I wish the National Party, in their negotiations with the ANC, had thought of giving more powers to the provinces. Centralisation suits the ANC ideology to a tee.

Is this stupid curfew still happening? Do people actually follow the curfew?

Yip, curfew only applies in places with easy targets. There are places and demographics unaffected as the cops won't dare go there...

This model certainly doesn't make sense for complicated cases like the CCP virus pandemic. You can't blanket an entire country based on the outcomes of a few provinces over others.

They did go with a federalist proposal, anc would have none of it.

Can you imagine if E Cape, Limpopo, Free State etc were allowed to just do their own thing with less accountablity to a higher structure how much worse they would be? (....On second thoughts- it would probably be close to the same.)
We must consider that we cannot view our provinces as if they were Washingston State, Colorado, New South Wales, Manitoba etc with self respect and accountability. We may have W Cape, but we also have Limpopo, E Cape and Free State.
