Eskom is a huge employer, is very top-heavy in terms of management and inefficient. If you allow IPP people will clearly see the difference and Eskom will have to sack people to stay competitive - not what the unions want.
Yes, unions fear IPPs as they don't provide the sort of job for life security that SOEs provide. They would have little influence at IPPs so, don't want that to take off.

A contact tells me Consol Glass has been told to turn on their furnaces back on...
I know someone who works at Spar head office, she seems to think Monday will allow for alcohol sales but with significant changes to sales times compared to the last relaxation. Taking it all with a pinch of salt..

So I guess Koosie is going to wait until Sunday night again to open his useless mouth.

"The fact that Fita instituted the court case is especially ironic in that their members have been the main beneficiaries of the sales ban. Fita members have greatly increased their market share and have increased the price of their product by nearly 500 percent on average," Van Walbeek.

Kopdoek is a big wild card, shes the one that kicked up the big fuss the first time around, I am fairly sure she will do the same thing this time round, the question is just who will win out Ramaphosa or her, Ramaphosa this time round might not take lightly to it seeing as it destroyed his reputation the first time round.
