With the economy f****d completely, I can't see demand for electricity picking up anytime soon. All those malls are empty, hotels closed, industry at a standstill. It would take monumental incompetence at Eskom to fall short now. Ironically this may be a good thing for them in the medium term...

One thing I've learned so far during the pandemic - my quarter century belief that our government's uselessness is boundless was well founded.

Infrastructure issues are bound to start impacting things though. We already had water problems today.

Yeah, we had blocked sewers a week ago, and the council took hours to come. Its autumn in Cape Town, and all the gutters are blocked with leaves. No sign of rain yet, but one big storm will shut down the entire city for a day.

Actually that's probably a minor blip compared to the lockdown...

We had one last week Saturday, Johannesburg water came and sorted it out in 2 hours.
Same problem by our side we have pine trees everywhere those needles clog everything.

Smoking anything is not prohibited, including weed.

I just posted in jest, I know it's not.

But I'll bet you 115g of my best stash against a carton of any cigatettes if the cops catches anyone smoking now they'll be locked up.

With that odd clown as their political head they'll reason it must be an illegal cigarette and you are busy with illegal activities.

Evil only requires that decent good people do nothing to truimph.

It might only be my imagination but doesn't it appear as if the Zumaites have taken over control of government.

Both the slug and the clown are left overs CR inherited. So is 5 of the ANC Top 6.

Under which other president would a minister openly defy him because she has the backing of the main police clown.

Maybe journalists should stop reporting on the crap the government is spinning and start with investigative reporting again.

All the crap the government spins the average South African can check online anyway.

Thanks. The same article was published on his own website earlier today. Good to see it given prominence.

well they did announce that there could be loadshedding soon...

Because everything was stopped due to lockdown, people from overseas the Specialists did not come and do their maintenance on our Nuclear equipment. That is specialized work. Our locals can't perform those tasks. I think they also bring spares and special machinery for specific tasks.

After an odd 40 years after SA incorprated nuclear technology and is the worlds largest nuclear isotopes exporter, we still do not have a full team that can maintain the systems. We even have 2 goverment agencies dealing exclusively with nuclear. Very sad
