Hi
I am not very clued up with IT, PC's etc so don't laugh @ me:D

I have a D-Link router with 4 lines and WiFi - I have noticed my Telkom 3gigs dissapearing very quickly (when used I switch to Afrihost Uncapped). I set the router to 1x wifi connection the other day and my laptop couldn't connect. I then switched to 5 connections and then I could.

I haven't changed the password on the router because I already have hassles with one pc not connecting and I can't get it connected (my daughter stuffed something up with the settings) so I don't want to change the password without someone with knowledge doing it.

Is it possible to hack my bandwith through wifi? And if yes how would I check and take revenge?

Cheers

Hi, you must change the router password as they all use the same admin password for each brand. As stated above change the password on the wireless AP as well and select one of the security option WEP or WPA.

Note that if someone ties into your local network and uses your internet access while performing illegal activities, you could be liable for their dodgy dealings.
