You had me fooled.

Then you must be a fool... do a search for competition commission and see what kind of posts and threads you will find on this board relating to them before this latest debacle.

Read a bit ... educate yourself.

Yes. Lemmings, fickle and easily bent. Do you think I grasped this metaphor out of thin air? The Competition Commission made an error of judgement, they are panicking, they are playing the blame game and exposing their downfalls, and trust me - the banks out of spite will ensure a head or heads roll.

Get over yourself. They have done more then you will ever do.

Listen dumbass, you have no idea what I think of the Competition Commission or what I have said about them in the past. Take your whining elsewhere. You have no clue what all of us think about the CC. You are making stupid blanket assumptions. Their accusations about hackers affect some of the people on this board... real people... friends of ours. Now go take a two stage jump over wide canyon. You are not endearing yourself to anyone here with your misdirected comments and ignorant assumptions.

Panicking?
So what.
Because of their stupidity, which they do not want to admit to - they're running around looking for scapegoats!!?!?!
What have you done?

Fined companies for bread price fixing? Now those bread makers will just increase their profits so as to cover the cost of the fine and still keep their usual profits at the same level...

There is no doubting that the CC have done some fine work, however on this occasion they cocked up and are trying pass the buck with an iron fist. They need to step up to the plate and admit the error on their part, and thereafter detail plans to ensure that this does not take place again.

Regarding the works they do in general:

The mediocre sanctions taken against perpetrators is insulting considering the good work they do in uncovering and exposing the cartels, price-fixers and general anti-competitive behaviour. This is however not entirely their fault as they are limited in respect of the way in which they are able to deal with the perpetrators...

The site's moderators will review the request and remove postings if the complainant has a genuine case. Should a legal request be submitted and Mybroadband.co.za feels it has merit, it will supply authorities with necessary information in terms of the posters identification.
Not cool.

Well whoever it was that released or "hacked" this report I support him or her. It is high time that we start fighting for our rights and take action against corrupt institutions like the banks.

WTF !!!!!

where did you get that from, link it

You've both missed the point: it is clearly stated that a legal request must be submitted.

What else do you expect mybb to do if they receive a legally obtained court order to disclose the IP address? Ignore it? You signed the terms and conditions when registering and rpm has to abide by the law.

But they have an uphill battle thereafter, because the forum merely requires an email address - not full contact details. They then need a court order to obtain the necessary details from your ISP. Which in itself could prove problematic if you've used a proxy. It's not just a case of asking for the details - I know for a fact (based on personal experience) that rpm will do his utmost to protect forumites in this situation purely based on principle. It isn't merely a case of ask and ye shall receive. That would set an atrocious precedent...
