I was hoping the strike would go on - I'd planned to spend the day watching millennials lose their **** when it came to handling cash.

Why would they need to use cash? Digital channels would have been fine.

those people who seem to think no-one needs cash an

Most people living in the rural areas like to have cash in hand and do not trust banking transactions. If they need to pay an account they will withdraw their cash outside of the bank, walk into the bank and directly deposit it there. It is quite common in the rural communities to see people lined up outside an ATM by their hundreds.

Bottom line is these people need cash in hand. Cash is King for them. To sabotage or blockade an ATM or bank or to interfere with people attempting to do banking is serious criminal offense and rewards a lengthy jail sentence.

In some cases they'll accept a pay increase offered to get them to stay, but they'll still be less productive because the company was undervaluing them before.
You may get an uneducated manual labourer who think that way but normal educated people reason differently
