Battlefield 3 on 1MB ADSL line

Hi guys,

Got my copy of battlefield 3 yesterday and ready to go. Well except for the awesome 2.7Gb update that I had to run last night.... :wtf:

I have a 1MB uncapped line with Afrihost, and was wondering if anyone out there is actually playing BF3 online with a similar ADSL product on the BF3 SA Servers.

Haven't had the chance to test for myself!

Wait, what? Never ever heard of line speed affecting the loading of a map on your local machine.

Anyway, using 384k with Mweb uncapped. Player count does not seem to make a difference. Averaging 30 - 45ms.

1 meg is plenty for bf 3, could play two or three guys on it.

Ja played for about and hour last night, ran perfectly. Ping was at 20 if not mistaken.

I've never gotten such an ass whooping in my life!

Gonna need lots of practice! Waayyy more different to MW2 than I thought.

I don't know if its me or what ,but the pings in BF3 seem fake/unrealistic, in COD BO on a JHB server i get 40-60ping but on BF3 i get pings of 10 and max would be 35, are these true pings?

Waayyy more different to MW2 than I thought.

Indeed it is, BF3 doesn't really feature any running and gunning like MW2. Just don't let the fact that you get owned in the beginning deter you from playing the game. Much more fun than MW2 in my opinion.

If you bought BF3 Premium, then it must likely downloaded the Close Quarters expansion, but there were a couple of updates that were really huge.

sadly no ... no premium yet, will be getting that next week, pc was packed up for a while so
didn't bother getting premium ... still i freaked when i saw 5.1G for an update !

Uh not sure, bought BF3 on Sunday, installed the game, couldn't join any of the servers, updated through Origin on Sunday night with an update size of 2.7Gb, and was hammering away last night without any notifications of updates. Odd
