The recommend specs has not really changed from bf1, the game loves cpu cores. Only major difference is if wou want dxr then you need a 2070 as that's the lowest entry level dxr gpu.

If you ran bf1 fine the bf5 will also be ok.

What's the reason for this?

My CPU did hold me back quite a bit with BF1 as a result.

Console Brothers,Look at this.

An i5-6600k is a minimum
And a GTX 1050 is minimum

Is this a Scam?

Game has heavy cpu load due to dynamic environment, destruction 4.0, there's a schiteload going on in the maps and the frostbite engine is optimised to use cores.

And I have to state just how well BF4/BF1 looks and runs considering the fairly modest requirements. I'm running BF1 mostly maxed out @ 1920x1080 on a CPU from 2011 at 60fps with the occasional CPU bottleneck in very intense battles in small areas. The guys behind the engine are geniuses. Can only imagine if modding support was available....
