Perhaps it's better to say, BEE is reinforcing racism against white people, causing them to want and need to band together more vehemently. Calling it "White supremacy" is just a cop-out, but maybe someone will take notice because the headline says, "WHITE SUPREMACY".
We really need to get off this racism carousel. Reparations are not racist, they are reparations ffs just get it round your heads. Schit is fscking cringe.

no they have, its OUR time now, lets stick it to the Whiteys where the sun dont shine.
so this is why they like to flaunt their wealth constantly and show off when its unnecessary.
The irony is this specific kind of "new money" phenomenon only reinforces racist interpretations of the non-racist phrase "Even though a monkey wears a golden ring.... it's still a monkey."

No one ever taught the black kids that wealth in itself does not elevate your worth.... your ability to generate wealth without help does that. Instead they were taught you can be someone special.... as long as whitey makes you someone special because there is a quota on that and for you to get a spot someone else needs to loose his.

It became a childish race to be king of the existing dungheap instead of just making your own damn dungheap.

This is actually a well known issue in psychotherapy, essentially: how do you help someone with psychological issues to get to a point where they are self sufficient ...while also not convincing them that they are a basket case who cannot function without a shrink?

The fact is thought that (yes, even 25 years after democracy) the vast majority of PoC in this country are utterly disenfranchised with zero upward mobility. A lot of the users on this forum will argue that everything should be equal simply because PoC can now vote as if that some kind of a silver bullet for all social disease and not simply the least that one should expect from a civilised nation. Unfortunately 'just democracy' isn't enough to create a more equal society, as we can see.

We have a problem that needs to find a solution somehow, for everyones sake. A society that is more equal has less of the social disease that we all suffer from in our beloved SA.
You're wrong, we don't need equality we need equity.

This is of course a completely disingenuous version of the difference.

Equality is not having the same size box.... it's having the same tools so you can make your own boxes. If there was equality the midget not having two boxes would be at fault for this himself.

The pic also presumes a welfare state which provides the boxes free of charge.
EDIT: or that the state can take a box from blue guy and give it to purple guy.

We need equality of opportunity. Not equality of outcome.

Assuming input = output does not factor in the human condition. It's quite easy to abuse and corrupt a system if you know how it works.

Sadly no, because there is equality in a lot of things but sadly people are still crippled so that means they'll still be poor.
So then you agree with the premise of BBBEE?

If you are white and agree with her, be mindful she just called you a white supremacist.
I suggest, that you would agree that BEE re-enforces white supremacy, elitism and division

If there are 25-30 million jobs in SA and south africans are educated enough to do them the 2-3 million whites at working age will be insignificant in terms of the economy. South africa can only blame itself for the poor governance. Trying to blame whites in perpetuity just makes the country racist.

Reparations have been made, back in the 90s, it's been 27 years,
Disagree. The damage done over 50 years of apartheid cannot be undone with a referendum.
it's the government who should've fixed things and built things instead of constantly looting.
Agree strongly. Nothing to add.

You're wrong, we don't need equality we need equity.

The problem with this cartoon is that it plays on the idea that some members of society are inherently less capable. The shorter figures in this drawing are not shorter due to oppression from the taller ones (as they are in our society here in SA) they are represented as innately less than the taller figures which is inaccurate in the context of our discussion and in fact the very thing that Thuli Madonsela is discussing wrt to BBBEE reinforcing white supremacy, as per the article.
