If you buy data bundels from Vodacom you have 1 month to use it. I bought 1 gig as my uasge for the month was finished. ( I made mistake as I'm on advaced 1 gig.) On 1 October I received my 1 gig again as per contract but had 222 mb left of the data I bought. I immediately saw that Vodacom is taking data from my 1 gig and not from my 222mb carried over. I contact them and Vodacom told me I must 1st use my 1 gig for the month and then the carry over. If I don't use 1 gig this month it means that Vodacom will take R68.37 from me. This is theft in my eyes. How does Vodacom management sleep at night or don,t they know about this theft. VODACOM BAD BAD BAD!!!!!!!!!!

It's sneaky, but it's not theft. Vodacom didn't take anything away from you, they just restrict you. Vodacom should allow you to choose whether your data usage goes off your contract 1GB or extra 222mb you have left from the bundle you purchased, but it might not be technically possible for them.

Its the way its always worked.... you never use carry-over before using your allowance for the month.

This sneaky is close to theft. Sorry Vodacom but you are SNEAKY SNEAKY !!!!
I wouldn't call it sneeky, since they list it in their terms somewhere. However, I would class it as a form of theft, yes, and should be stopped.

It's really ****.

That's why I'm using once-off bundles on my phone. I don't buy a new bundle until the old one expires, so they HAVE to take off my rolled bundle.

I don't understand why they do this data carry over thing. I mean ,if I buy Data bundles why should I be told when to use it by??

There is absolutely not a single viable reason to use a Vodacom data contract. The prepaid just gives you so much more control.

Do adsl accounts have Roll-over?
Jojono?
Different ISP's provide different packages.
ADSL ISP's either sell bandwidth that expires at month-end, or they sell you bandwidth at about R10 more per GB that never expires / expires after 12 months.

It depends on the package you've purchased.

If you got the R29 special from AfriHost, then it does not rollover.

However, if you use Axxess prepaid, then it does roll over.

But, back to the topic - it is best to use prepaid airtime for your web browsing, and not a contract as you will be hardcapped with prepaid, but not always with a contract, especially as you can use all your allocated bandwidth up for the month and start to surf on out-of-bundle rates, which is a lot expensive.

I think it is ridiculous! They don't mention anywhere on the website how it works... Monthly vs Adhoc, etc

Afrihost prepaid also rolls over

it costs 49 bucks per GB - how much is it for Axxess prepaid btw?

So is it Vodacom that only does this? Does MTN do something differently with data roll over?

If I have paid for the data, why should Vodacom take it away from me at the end of the month?

It should be available forever, or till I have used it up. Its like saying that if I dont drink my can of Coke within a day, Pick&Pay can come to my home and ask for it back.

I paid for it, remember? Vodacom behaves just like Telkom, stealing from the SA consumer.

I had about some data left at the end of Sep. The data bundle expiry date on vodacom4me showed:
Data Bundle Expiry Date Sunday, 1 November 2009
On the 1st of this month I received a message that said:
Your Data Bundles expired.
So is the "Data Bundle Expiry Date" incorrect on vodacom4me.co.za?
I bought another bundle (Standard) now and vodacom4me tells me that it expires
Tuesday, 1 December 2009
Is this correct?
