I really expected much more for having to wait 4-5 months.
Then all we get is a lousy old promo that only lasts for 3 months.
You have got to get a new 24 month to really benefit from all of this.

Unfortunately MTN can't please everyone @ the same time.

I really like the 500MB bundle too, and the R399 for 2GB is great too especially if its extended on a non-contract basis. :) I think some people will never be satisfied until you give them uncapped HSDPA @ R50/month.

Funny thing is everyone is going on about the 2GB thing, and people going on about it only pleasing high-end users and nothing for the low-end etc etc...

But did anyone actually see :

MTN 500MB @ R250
Vodacom 500MB @ R350

That is 30% cheaper than Vodacom ....what part of all that am i missing?
Is that part of only a 3 month promo, i think not?

How is 2GB enough for high-end or heavy users? At the reported 1.3Mbps you can download 2GB in 215 minutes (03:35). That's not heavy use at all. That's the reason South Africa will have to play catch-up with the rest of the world forever, mindsets like that just hold us back.

The 500MB bundle etc. is nice. And the changes are going in the right direction.

But what is really annoying and for me quite dumb is that the low end-users are forced to buy multiple sim-cards because they can’t load multiple 10MB bundles. I don’t do it but there are people who do. And MTN has now more active sim cards on the network. That makes things just messy. But maybe that’s what MTN wants, to tell everybody they have so many million users just for marketing or whatever but in reality they don’t have so many.

PS. I have the greatest bundle MTN has to offer anyway! Use as much as I like and don’t pay a thing! But I still rather use Vodacom on prepaid currently. Two reasons; 1st, Vodacom HSDPA is faster and 2nd, MTN service is going down the tubes. I’ve tried since last year to get MTN to fix the billing and I gave up! I told them I’m phoning for free etc. and they don’t fix it. The 808 number on my invoice is getting registered but nothing more and that number was phoned a lot.

oh please! Typically South African. Lets give each other up the ass!
Anyway. Yes MTN did a good move, but what about us people who don't want bundles, plus they expire.... Its all about forced marketing.
by the way I had a 350mb bundle and ended up downloading 1,5G. half of that was windows update!
