Behind-the-scenes at Telkom’s impressive NNOC

thats impressive!!! still wish we didnt have to pay for the telephone lines with ADSL lol

photos of that biggenscreen doesn't do it justice - you'll have to experience it physically...

...very impressive.

so when telkom told me in may that my phone line will take 5 months to install because of infrastructure upgrades, they were talking about this place?

i reckon they should start installing lines to customers so that they'll have something to monitor at this place...

For me it is difficult at the moment to be positive about Telkom. No ADSL (line totally dead) for almost 2 weeks now. So will that impressive centre help my case? I would guess, NO. :(

Those red bars on those screens are too long!

Great Centurion gets Telkom's operation center but Centurion is not good enough to get fibre internet from Telkom.

Haha , those photo's are at least 5 years old.

Looks way different now, and if i do say so myself, much more impressive....

The Telkom Operations centre soaked up the entire fibre budget for Centurion...

Why do an article & post old pics (crt monitors, old telkom logo)? Have you run out of stories to write?
At least get relevant up to date pics to post with your articles to make it more credible please.

Even though you guys are saying its old pictures,it still looks pretty impressive.

Like a NASA control center on steroids or something.Although surely the wall is bigger than 20m?

And just last week I had some silly call centre person try to sell me Telkom Internet with VDSL even though there was and is no VDSL service in my area. <-- if i knew where this guy lived i'd go over and slap him.

And yes i checked, 4Mbps is the max.. so if i had signed up via the sales call i'd be stuck with a sucky package @ 4Mbps instead of 20Mbps.

I had the same problem (17 - 30 Sept), so I escalated it on HelloPeter - twice!! - before they fixed it. Try that...
