Belgium the latest victim of cyber-spying

“What we do not do,” Clapper said in a statement, “is use our foreign intelligence capabilities to steal the trade secrets of foreign companies on behalf of – or give intelligence we collect to – U.S. companies to enhance their international competitiveness or increase their bottom line.”

Seems legit.

“The inquiry has shown that the hacking was only possible by an intruder with significant financial and logistic means,” they said.

Belgacom clearly has not been the victim of that cheap and unsophisticated form of extremely dangerous "malicious hacking" where the "intruder" clicks on an unprotected CoJ link that has already been indexed by Google and the CoJ projectile vomits all of its data out onto the Internet.

This is just funny. All these countries do the same. They all spy on each other.
Dunno hey. There is so much internet infrastructure in the US that they are in a somewhat unique position, so I don't quite buy the "they all do it" angle. To prove my point. 13 root DNS servers. 10 of those in the US.
