So guys what you think?

Im looking at hte Klipsch Pro-Media 2.1's, they are THX and 200 watts. Sub is 130W!!

They look like pretty m,uch the best speakers around, and not too expensive either.

Are there speakers that could beat these in sound quality?

Oh and how important is a good souncard? If i get these speakers I will get one, but i dont want to spend too much on them. Are the cheapish creative SB LIVE 24bit ones okay? They are only R350 or so, but I could spend a bit more.

I've got some Logitech Z-2300 2.1 THX certified speakers.. They have the same sorta specs to the ones u're talking about 200W RMS total output 120W sub, etc and have been fawkin amazing(had em about a year now).. to quote CNET The bottom line: If you're looking for a set of 2.1 speakers, buy these. It's as simple as that They are really high quality and very well priced, and damn do they get loud before ANY distrorion kicks in.. Any THX certified speakers out there should have some serious sound quality pumping from them, its kinda like a nice seal of quality.. thanks george:)

Maybe also take a look at these logitech's too, really high quality stuff...

check out a review's here http://www.denguru.com/2004/11/11/logitech_z/index.html

Ja, those were my choice for 2.1's, but then I saw these. You dont get them in SA, and if you did they would be a bit more expensive than the z-2300's.

The z-2300's have louder sattelites and a less powerfull sub. but honestly Klipsch are the best quality speakers you can get for a PC I think. I have read prety much all the reviews on both of these speakers and it sees the Klipsch are MUCH better.
They dont even have a remote (wired one), the controls are on the sattelite, like a old skool set up but apparently Kilpsch cut all the goodies for pure sound quality so apparently they are awesome, better than the Logitech ones.

But im wondering if there is anything better, or just maby a better option, I think if I was gonna get the Logitechs price range Id rather go for Klipsch.

From what I can make of it, the Logitechs seem to be getting better reviews but there is a problem with the cables of the satellites being hardwired into the sub instead of using jacks. This would probably make it a bit crap to try and place your satellites and sub exactly where you want them because it's limited by the cables being hardwired.

The Klipsch doesn't have this issue, and comes with almost 3 metres cable length for each satellite. This is a big deciding factor for me and I'm sure many others. So where about can one of these be had?

The Cnet reviw is that only one to say the Logitechs are better. Im still looking around a bit though.
