Best ADSL modem to use with Airport extreme?

Battling with coverage on my current Netgear modem/router. Thinking about going the AEBS route. Can I still use my Netgear (DG834) as only a modem and shift the wifi duties to the AEBS, or will a dedicated ADSL modem make it easier?
If the latter, what modem do you guys recommend (can get DLink at good prices) ?

Using a Airport Exstreme base station as my router and wifi and Netgear DG834 as modem. Works like a charm.

Any ADSL modem will work fine with the AP Extreme - I'm still using the original telkom jobby..!

You could even use the Airport Express, does the same job, the only benefit of the Extreme is the fact that you could plug in an USB HDD and use it as a NAS.
