Hi :)

I am a newcomer to this page and also new to providing internet for myself lol. I am moving into a new flat (Stellenbosch) next year and looking for a efficient, yet affordable internet plan, since the university wifi does not cover the area. I am not that informed when it comes to different types of internet connections and service providers.

I am looking for a portable setup that i can connect my phone, ipad and laptop to for basic browsing. So about 2-3GB. Can someone please inform me on 3g plans, 3g wifi routers and experiences with service providers?

Thank you

Get Telkom Mobile, afrihost has too much issues trust me
Speak for yourself man... Yes, there was a period of a week where we experienced occasional downtime, but that seems to be amended now.

Or alternatively, this.

2GB Anytime Data + 1GB Night Surfer (12AM - 7AM) R149. (TM network only, check your coverage or buy R10 airtime and run www.speedtest.net).

Telkom mobile

25gigs anytime + 25 gigs nite surfer = R1000 (valid for 6months)

60 gigs anytime + 60 gigs nite surfer = R1800(valid for 12 months)

You will receive better performance on Telkom mobile than Afrihost/Mtn but i suggest testing a prepaid sim with both networks first.
