If you have money then you have no reason to get an iSonic...

iSonic it is then :)
Just a choice now between 500W/600W & Modular/Normal PSU. They say that the modular one, Supposedly has shorter cables than the normal one - could pose a problem. :(

Bingo! :D

Now what do you guys think of the "Isonic Megapower 500W PSU"?

Edit:
Just my luck. Just as I'm ordering the card - Prophecy goes *out of stock* :(
+Their Credit Card facilities are offline

I have been running one of these "Isonic Megapower 500W" PSU's for some time now (+/- 18 months), and have had no problems. I have 5 x hdd's, 1 x dvd writer, 1.44, overclocked e4500, overclocked 7900gs, 2Gig mem, 8 x usb devices.

In my opinion, it's ok.

Like WKJ?:beanie said, Yes I did. You even posted a Question on the ad few days ago...

But I'm selling it now - My motherboard went bye bye. Going PCI Express...

But Now to decide ... HD3870 OC? (I like ATI ok) or... :'( 8800GTS? 9800GTX? etc etc :( Can't decide. But I guess anything will be better than my ATI 9600Pro :D

Could the Isonic PSU be responsible for you MB failure?
if you got the PSU that is...

My Isonic, the 600W one has been running perfectly for over a year now. Two fans, very quiet. I like it :)

Sorry dude :( Yeah, we had some frustrations with these 3850 AGP cards - the ETA kept changing, and then the price jumped hugely - we ended up giving about 6 away at below our cost :/ but we know have reliable stock on these cards, and the price is more consistent.

With the CC system we've had endless issues - for the moment we are going to stick to EFT's because they have been highly reliable, but we are exploring CC options.

This is weird. Ive heard quite a lot of thing about the Isonic's, like:
"P.O.S"
"Love them!
"Bit loud"
"Great PSU!"
But no one can tell my Why they are supposedly not so good or supposedly so good...

Thank you for the feedback Guys! :D

Well, my personal experience, both from selling 100+ of these and using a few myself in our testbench is the following:

1. Relatively quite at low loads, but a bit noisy at high loads - a trait shared by most budget PSUs.
2. Great reliability for their pricing - not as good as Antec, for example, but much better than some similarly priced PSUs.
3. They look cool :D I like shiny stuff!
4. Removable cables are useful, plus they seem to handle being plugged in and out a lot quite well, which was something I originally worried about.
5. They provide solid power for their price, but once again are not quite the best if you are planning some heavy overclocking.

My personal opinion? I'd have no problem putting one in my own PC, as long as I was not planning to overclock.

Jikes, you are suddenly all over this forum Artagra...I Love it! :D

Don't worry - In the end I got the 3850 & a non-isonic PSU :p from you guys. Glad I got them. I had to return the motherboard I ordered from you for credit though - I hate doing that after ordering and paying, sorry again! - because plans changed this side after my AGP motherboard went to the moon...so now I'm in the market for a PCI card :)

I plan to buy a ATI 4870 or something in September if they are available by then. Hopefully my credit/voucher is still waiting for me when that time arrives

Thx and Keep up the good work on that side Prophecy!

Yeah well I'm trying to catch up on threads that have been popping into my inbox but I haven't had time for :D Glad you came right. Don't worry, coupons are valid for a year on our system, but we still track them after that - so even if it's longer than a year, just call us and we'll re-enable the coupon.
