So Gobii it was in the end. Ordered the one from the guy selling on Carbonite and one from Kalahari.

Thanks again for all the help. When I receive them will be sure to let you know how they perform.

Don't. The build quality of 10" is nowhere close to an iPad. Get him either a 7" or an A4 pad with crayons.

He had a good session last night on my iPad 3, even started typing up an email lol.

So how many of you have bought tablets for your kids?

My 3yr son love's to use musical and drawing apps on my iPad 3 recently, he now even knows how to delete and start over again so was thinking of getting him a cheapish android 10 inch like - http://www.loot.co.za/product/proline-b1005-10-1-dual-core-tablet-with-wi-fi-androi/gfdf-2864-g530

Got my 2 year old a cheapie (less then 1K) 7 inch android tablet, keeps her occupied in the car
I saw Hifi corp has for R999 7 inch tablets made for kids (rubberised etc) like Knock off of the samsung galaxy kids tablets

I decided on an Alcatel Pop 7, it's being advertised at around R1699 to R2200. Runs Android. It's from Vodacom so has a 2 year warranty, don't mind paying a bit more for that. Kid is 8
