5. ICS - tick

Looks like I found my new phone :D

Be warned, ICS not there yet, but the 2.3.7 works pretty well.

Hopefully the ICS arrives soon - Sony has already released it for the Xperia Arc S.

News state this month, but no latter than next month. But I guess most people will not even notice as they skinned it. I played with the leak on my Play and most apps looks the same.

@BeVonk and others, can you update the Note to ICS? What are the rumours surrounding the development and release of the next Note, if at all? My wife does photography, and I am considering the Note for her. I think it will stand her in good stead to have her portfolio with her at all times, just big enough to display to potential clients on the go, and with such a vibrant display, no less...is my thinking correct?

I am running Canogenmod 9 (ICS). Runs very smooth. Also used Stunner which is also excellent.

Not heard any rumors of the Note 2 yet so I think we are safe with our purchases for a bit.

Yes, your thinking is correct :)

I have been very happy with my SGS since I installed ICS onto it and going back to GB will not be an option. Fortunately I have a few months left of the contract, so who knows?

My wife just got the Note.

My GS2 feels puny in comparison! You know how your friend's iPhone feels compared to your GS2, and you'd silently scoff at the iPhone's punyness, not understanding how it can compare in usability and general awesomeness? Now I feel that about my own phone! I take solice in thinking that my GS2 is a 'dynamite in small packages' thing, even though overall its still one of the bigger phones.

Seriously, the size of the Note is only a boon in my opinon; not a bane. Everything! is so much better on't. If I had the choice right now, I'd easily choose the Note over the GS3 or OneX without any other added benefit.

Its best to play with a demo for a while. Give it 15 minutes at least (5 minutes monopolozing the demo in the store can feel like a long time, but do go the full 15). Read the reviews. Most reviewers go in saying the usual 'its probably too big and ridiculous looking blah blah blah' but within two days they say something like 'OMG I can't go back to anything else.'

I'm exaggerating just a tad, but still. I still think its the best phone right now.
