N3 and then I like to go onto the R103 as there are a couple of places I stop and just enjoy the more scenic route.
Overated and prices aimed for tourists.I also seem to remember there being a wild game meats place in Piggly Wiggly as well..

Durban, Uhmlanga, Balitto.
Looking for some lekker, fresh rump and the best rib eye.
Where do I go?
Don't send me to woolies, eish.
Man I would love to live in that area, its got such a good feel about it.I want to move there when I have money again. That was the plan. Then along came lawyers. Snakes. Anyways, maybe next year... who knows.
Karoo Kitchen.... Overrated with very little variety. Not sure how the heck they end up on the best butchery list. Probably the best city dwellers can get. Could just as well have got some meat from Spar.
Dargle Valley Meats.... Now that is a winner. The main supplier was a bit out of my way. But a local shop sold their meat. Its a bit pricey, but really worth it.
So for my next trip I will make sure to plan a stop there on my route.
The best meat still is from a local farmer near Kokstad and the beef from the Winterberg area, Eastern Cape.
Oh and the best T-bone I ever had was from Maclear Butchery. Almost don't even need to add any salt.
Maybe it is just this time of the year. Shops are low on stock and didn't plan properly not knowing what to expect with the lockdowns etc.Intriguing... Last time I bought from karoo kitchen the meat was fantastic quality and the selection was great. Pity to hear that it might be a bit off it's game...
Definitely something new that has popped up is Aloe meats... They have an outlet in kloof and stock all sorts of game meats.
I want a braai, not a shisa nyama.Go to Jwayelani butchery in Pinetown CBD. Cheapest and Freshest rump and something that might be rib eye (not sure if it's cow though).
This place. Great selection of meat and fair prices. Ballito Lifestyle Centre
