Best car for R150,000

My beloved Velocity Golf 1.4i which I bought in my student days after living in the UK for a year was stolen last month so I need a new ride.

I am looking for something that will be cheap to maintain, reliable, decent on petrol but still fairly powerful and good looking.

I don't want to go over R150,000.

Suggestions?

Yes, ther Getz is the pick of the month in the latest Car magazine, where they are now going to feature different second hand cars every month, in different price ranges.

I would also lean towards a Getz if I was forced to stay away from my beloved Polo!! :D

I don't really like the look of the Getz.

How is the Mazda 2?

I really like the hatch back Honda Civics, but the only ones in my price range have around 60000kms on the clock. Would it be getter to get a newer, lower speced car?

Am also considering the new Ford Fiesta

I bought the new Ford Fiesta 1.4i Ambiente and I'm very happy with it.

Looks good comes with ABS,EBD,dual airbags,PS, electric windows(front), power mirrors ect ect.

Good fuel economy @ 5.9l per 100km,4year/120 000km warentee and 3 year/60 000km service plan. Services are every 20 000km which is not bad.

Jeez guys, I picked up my Impreza for R129k with 19000km on the clock. There's amazing deals out there if you look a bit "outside the box."

Go for the Hyundai i20, its the Getz replacement and realy worth the 150k

i10 = atos replacement
i20 = Getz replacement
i30 = Elantra hatch or maybe accent replacement(not sure if we'll even get it in SA)

Wish we could get the Genisis Coupe the 2.0Turbo would be *droool
Anyone know any dealers who might want to unzip their lip a bit?
