I am starting the joyful process of looking into a new cellphone contract/provider, as my trusty stead is dying. But now the it seems that the world is a wash with misleading and sometimes obscure pricing. Currently I am on prepaid - Cell with now specific provider in mind. Other than MTN which would need to have incredible deals to lure me back after their mess and radical pricing changes which have been implemented.
So far my investigation has resulted in the following
1) Cell C EPIC packages and absolute crap, probably the worst packages ever that are so expensive in the fine print. So that is out
2) Telkom mobile has great new packages the "freeme", but now there is the issue of their network to consider
3) Vodacom seems expensive as usual, but compared to Cell C it probably a better choice
The problem I have is that being on Cell C prepaid, means that my bill is now R200 a month or less, I would not like to spend more than R500 a month. But the new phones are extremely expensive and I cant justify spending R550 on a phone with a poor package and then end up at closer to R700. Surely there are better options?
any advise people have?
