Hey guys, xbox just RROD'd on me 
I have the ps3 as well and to honest i barely play games and was willing to throw the xbox on the heap after gears of war 3, and now with 14 days to go it fails me. What is the best deal for a replacement??

Just fix it, its almost always a heating problem. I have modded my old 360 so that the heatsink is bolted down, not clipped with the useless clips it comes with, fixed the RROD and never had a problem again. And while you have it in pieces you might as well flash the latest iXtreme firmware so you can play your backups and not wreck your precious gaming disks...

And even more bad nnews, they recently ran a special at R6999 to move the stock.LOL
yea, its already in pieces, need to go get the washers, but from cold start it just hangs so i dont see how its a heat issue...
It will rrod even from a cold start until you replace the thermal paste...

At least you can play PS2 games. R5000 for my 80Gb PS3 :-/.
Wow I forgot how expensive the consoles were when they first came out. Must be even worse with that IC screw up a few months ago when I managed to buy 3 PS3 for R2000 each and a 360 for R130.
I also thought that was a great added bonus, but then i thought...why would i play PS2 games on a PS3? it was a sort of win:fail situation. Eventually sold my PS2 with all the games in any case. Now i need to upgrade my hard drive, but too scared that if i touch my PS3 it'll YLOD. I mean it's plus/minus 6 years old now.
