I have put off the inevitable and my darlin daughter now demands a wii (She's all of 8 years old) like now. Tomorrow.
What's the best deal going ? Should I rather go for used with stuff, or new ? I am as usual, clueless when it comes to consoles although she has managed quite nicely on the old Ninetendo DS Lite she wants a Wii for some unfanthomable reason. Any advice appreciated.

Stay away from the wii.games are crap and the novelty wears out pretty fast.
Rather get PS3/move or Xbox/kinect.

I think the wii is perfect for her.

Don't listen to DrYes. It's extremely easy to avoid shovelware. Not that it would matter much to an 8 year old girl.

Well someone is flogging two PS2 slims with a whole bunch of games and she turned it down because she wants a Wii. Little Girls are unreasonable . But I think it's not bad for the price. I just recently bought an Xbox360 4gb model from game for R2k, and opened it. but I'd rather like to get the 250gb model with an extra controller and games for R3000. So I'd like to sell the current one, which store should I sell to, or is there any other option?

Try return your console. Otherwise you'll have to sell it on Gumtree at a loss. Console specials have been going on for a long time now - be cautious next time.

Looking to buy a NEW xbox 360 + kinect, which store has the best deal?

BT Games have the 250GB + Kinect + 1 remote + few Kinect games for only R3999.
Seems pretty good to me.

Just buy a Drive and add it.

CNA have an Xbox 250Gb with FIFA Street, Forza 3 and a download token for Crysis 2 plus an extra controller for R2999.

NEED HELP:
I keep receiving this message when I test the connection [DNS Error: Your DNS server can't resolve Xbox LIVE server name]
I'm using a netgear modem and have entered the passphrase. The xbox connects to the modem but cant connect to the internet. My ip address and dns servers have been set to automatic. I've tried the solutions listed in the xbox forum:

Reset network settings to default

Restart your network equipment

Use manual DNS settings
