I was looking at the PS3 at CNA and to my shock the box was marked at R1799.00! I was about to call a salesperson over and ask them to open the glass case, then I noticed this was not the console but the GT5 Special Edition box (why so huge?).

You happy with it? The wireless N and the fact that it has wireless controllers are a big seller for me.

Yup so far just wish I had a wireless router to connect to :) Kinect Rocks !!!! Soo much laughs.

What cables does it come with? I'm already using my 2 HDMI inputs on my telly for my media player and my HD pvr.

Does not come out the box with HDMI cables that needs to be purchased seperately I'm using the standard 3 plug cable for now still looks bloody awsome on my 52 inch :) Now just need to build up a collection of games :)

Cool, so component video then or composite?

I would guess component, which has 3 cables normally whereas composite has 5 IIRC, unless he is only referring to the "video cables" :)

Well he states standard cable which I highly doubt would be a composite cable, so I'm guessing component :p

In this day and age when most things are HDMI it's not uncommon to have HDMI or component cables bundled with your devices.

HD PVR is a simple example, I don't think my question was unreasonable.

Agreed, but composite cables have always been quite expensive in my experience.
And no, your question wasn't unreasonable, we were both just guessing :)

Lol, well I went out and bought the 4GB jobbie and I must say I'm very impressed with the new console. Nice and compact, very quick and easy to setup. I had it connected to my Live account through my wireless N network in a few minutes. Got it running over HDMI to my 720P 50" with the optical audio.

Bought NFS Hot Pursuit as well which I'm enjoying quite a bit.

Awsome Juggy xbox is definatly a lot of fun not realy big into console gaming but it was a good purchase IMHO. Helps keep the family having fun together. Now go get a Kinect and let the real fun times begin :)
