UPDATE: Partserve say the console is not on their system as being repaired and that the new consoles dont come with plastic on them... Wonder if that is true?

Damn, I was thinking of buying one @ makro for my little cousins...they are probably giving away some demo and refurb consoles and people simply don't know/check. My PS3 had plastic on it when I bought it new, even my xbox360, all had some sort of plastic covering the console, it simply wasn't laid in the box.

Something is fishy...maybe go in a Game store and ask if new PS3's these days are in plastic or not?

Ok, I just watched an unboxing vid on youtube and the PS3 didnt have any plastic on it either. I think I must just be paranoid.

There were no scratches either...

This can easily be covered up though... My 18 month old BB Curve was sent in for repairs and they replaced it with a refurb and it looked brand new. I really couldnt tell the difference.

But now my mind is at ease.

Its a 250G so it must be old stock clearance. First slim's were 120G and 250 G, replaced with 160G and 320G. The new slims have wireless N wifi.
It is cheap.

Mine didn't have plastic on though, although it did have a plastic paper type cover over it...

Bought the 320Gb + God of War 3 + Unchartered 2 for R3,799 at Toys R Us. Great deal for me as I would definitely have bought those two games. As a matter of fact GoW3 is one of the reasons for getting a PS3.

That is good price for the red wii to be honest. How on earth do BTGames manage to sell the console (under cost probably) or do they import their own stuff.

Low markup = mass sales. You make something cheap, sell tons of it, better than selling something expensive with low sales; if the end result is more profitable ofcourse.
