I have the Logitech extreme gaming headset. It has everything you could look gor in a gaming headset ie comfort, clarity and good voice reproduction.

I use it in Battlefield 2 and Counterstrike Source.

Get it from Take2 for around R250.

Serious man, dont get something that squishes your ears against your head. They hurt after a while - talking about the AOpen ones with a mic..

Last year at rAge I bought a nice set of headphones for bout R70. Had a built-on mic and the pads covered the outside of the ears. Mmm the comfort :)
Pity they broke.. :(

I have two pairs of Senheisers: HD477 which I use for my PC, and the PX200's which I use with my iPod. Really happy with them! :D

Do you wear glasses? If so do like RazorO says and get a pair that pads around the ears. I shudder to think how I managed to survive at last years RAGE with my headphones pushing my ears against the frame of my glasses ....... the pain oh the pain. :(

Sennheisers are the best buy.

HD 470's are VERY comfortable, and the sound quality is very good. Unfortunatly they dont have a mic.

The Sennheiser PC-150's are very nice aswell and the mic quality is great.

My brothers and i all currently use the Aopen HS-780 available for around R200 at Rectron. It got some great reviews, and we are really happy with them. Also nice to have an in-line volume control.
Check it out:

I bought this headset from digitalplanet for R117.00 excl delivery costs. They have good sound quality. Only gripe is that in the beginning they were a bit tight and I couldn't wear them for an extended period of time, but now they are broken in like a good pair of shoes :D

Nope, dont think so. Just normal jack on them all, and just the 2 speakers.

nuts, then i would rather opt for something like the ZALMAN 5.1 earphones. Its really cool for games, especially at LANS, since you cannot have your speakers there. Its a great advantage to know that the guy is behind you and just to your left somewhere.

But i must agree with you, sennheiser (i thought it was seinnheiser! ) produces great sound. Tomshardware had some reviews of headsets not too long ago, very informative, but i dont think the sets reviewed are readily available in this awesome country of ours.
