Not to be a male reproductive organ or anything but why would anyone pay R15 to see which apps your "mates" use, since they are your friends you can always, lets say, ask them, you know for free.

Edit: I see his post have been removed.

Does anyone know of a news app that has short articles, like 100 words max... I don't have time to read loooong articles on news24 or any of the other news apps.

appening, it's a South African app that lets you search for events, like parties, races, nightlife, festivals and more. you can add an event to a device-calendar, share it on Social media like Twitter and FB and view the event location on the integrated mapping system. you can get more info at appening.co.za

Very good. Lovely interface. Detailed reports and most importantly relatively accurate.

Weather Now. For a price, but frequently free.
Hourly and two weeks graphs. Display current data from number of weather stations around you.

For shopping (finding shops, malls, specials, sales etc) there is a new SA App called MySidekick, but it's only out on IOS now, I believe they are working on an Android. Really handy that you can call all emergency numbers from the app too (especially here in SA!)
