Best LTE and 5G broadband offers in South Africa

Fixed-wireless broadband services, including fixed-LTE and 5G, are growing in popularity as speeds and usage limits rival traditional fixed-broadband access.

Although fibre coverage has rapidly grown over the last few years, only a small percentage of households in South Africa have access to fibre.

Altron Nexus CEO Mark Harris recently revealed that only 12% of households had access to ADSL and fibre in 2020.

For low-end users the Supersonic/MTN 30GB+30GB deal is very good, especially since a free-to-use device is included, so you don't have to worry about getting the wrong router under MTN's ridiculously strict device restrictions.

Otherwise the Telkom 10GB+10GB for R99 (Or the 40GB+40GB promo for R199) is still a great option given that the SIM works on basically any device capable of connecting to the internet.

Is cell C running on Vodacom now , looking @ the R899 1TB deal

Yes it is, but it definitely isn't given the same priority. Getting about half the connection speed when compared with Vodacom under the same conditions. (4G Mobile data, not fixed LTE.) Performance is still relatively good though.

MTN major problem is insisting on specific routers.

The 10 +10 Telkom deal actually gets a pocket router thrown in now as well. Unbeatable!

Some offers require a 36-month contract, while others are month-to-month. I feel the differentiation would have been helpful.
