I guess Disprin?

Any reason why you need a paracetamol free one?

Ibuprofen. You can ask for Lenafen in SA. It's the generic OTC.

Looking out for my liver :whistling:

you need a lot of paracetamol to actually cause any damage to the liver. The liver regenerates itself, unless you in advanced liver failure you dont need to avoid it.

If you really must avoid it then

ibuprofen/indomethicin/asprin/diclofenac anything else will require a script or is in combination with paracetamol

EDIT:

paracetamol usually causes its damage by depleting an amino acid L-cystine. Its a non-essential amino acid so your body can synthesize it. Alternatively you can supplement it by eating good sources of L-cysteine such as: chicken, turkey, pork, dairy products, eggs, egg whites, garlic, onions and broccoli.

Or you can buy L-cystine powder from a sports nutrition store

Not sure if it's paracetamol free but I swear by Adcodol.

Adcodol is great for big headaches...specially tension ones. It does have quite a bit of paracetamol in it. The thing that makes it so good though is the codeine...thus why many people get addicted to it. I try not to have it in the house.

There are only addictive personalities ......... any drug can be non-addictive if you are the right frame of mind.

I presume you mean one time/every now and again use?

In that case, I'd be inclined to agree to some extent.

However, say a person has an operation, and needs to be on a strong opiate for a couple of months afterwards. No matter their mindset, they will become physically dependent on the drug, and will need to carefully wean themselves off of it.

Major ops with major opiates is the exception yes because pain that harsh can only be treated with the big boy addictive stuff.
