I presume you mean one time/every now and again use?

In that case, I'd be inclined to agree to some extent.

However, say a person has an operation, and needs to be on a strong opiate for a couple of months afterwards. No matter their mindset, they will become physically dependent on the drug, and will need to carefully wean themselves off of it.

copa i've got morphine and this other stuff here that i could easily get from my doctor because of my RSD. the nerve pain is now so bad, what was thought to be tennis elbow now turns out to be a nerve pain condition. this just all stems from this RSD. i won't take these strong medicines because i don't like flying high. that just goes to show i'm not an addictive person. i would rather take 2 syndols and get knocked out while sitting at my computer trying to do my work hahahahaha.

Major ops with major opiates is the exception yes because pain that harsh can only be treated with the big boy addictive stuff.

What about nicotine? Are all the people who are addicted to cigarettes suffering from an addictive personality then? Or is nicotine one of the most physically addicting substances we know?

I think your original statement is ultimately incorrect, if you give it some thought.

Well, Syndol is the same as a Adco-Dol, as far as I can gather, and I certainly get a bit of a buzz from them (as do you, if they knock you out at your computer, good grief). But ya, good on you if you are not compelled to take the heavy stuff.

I'm not discounting the fact that some people have addictive personalities and some don't - I'm taking issue with the all-encompassing nature of the statement I was responding to. Not a big deal, I just felt it was a bit misleading.

If you have a headache once in a blue moon, that's fine - but if you have it alot - bru, I suggest you get that checked out - pointless masking the pain with meds, you're in pain for a reason, find out why!!!

Take a turmeric capsule in the morning and the evening. It's got the same active ingredient as ibuprofen. If you can get the turmeric root itself it will be cheaper, but you have to crush it into a powder yourself.

Google turmeric for more info.

Worked for me. I suffer from a bone disease which occasionally causes pain and this has worked for me. I was buying pain killers almost daily. After a week of taking turmeric capsules, the pain went away. Now I take a capsule once or twice week. Get an episode very rarely.

ibuprofen IS the active ..... ;)

paracetamol is the safest drug you can buy OTC and if you have a headache for 7 days straight you need to get checked. Could be high blood pressure high blood sugar meningitis and bla bla bla

The "pseudo doc " strikes again.
Headache is not a common symptom of high blood sugar at all.

so ? there are 100s of reasons one could have a headache. Though if you had a brain you would realise we talking about the drugs not a diagnosis.

yes they are ....... nicotine is nowhere near addictive as some make it out to be.

P.S - the statement was originally about otc drugs/pills. Once you move to opiates and nicotine and whatever other hard drug, the statement differs. And even though the addictive personality thing still applies, it applies less because of the nature of the 'harder' drugs. My 2 cents anyway.

(and yes, I have been within a culture of a massive range of drugs, taking and those around me taking)

I take almost 2 mybulens a day, I get very bad tension headaches and there is some sort of nerve in my neck that is also causing, muscular and nerve:/ I went for an MRI and nothing really came up other than getting epilepsy pills to relax the nerve in my neck which didn't solve much, I wish I could stop taking so many pills, but I honestly have no choice, the day I wake up without a headache fells like the best day ever, I wish there were strong "healthy" pain killers.
