What do you use to watch HD movies on your pc? I use KMplayer, but the audio goes out of sync with the images.

+1 VLC

I haven't come across a better player than VLC yet.
Doubt there is a better one

KMPlayer works great for me. On my laptop the audio does go out of sync but only because the machine isn't powerful enough.

I also use Media Player class home cinema edition. I like the easy, quick custom resize by pressing 9 or 1.

Media Player Classic Home Cinema Edition, via K-Lite codec pack, as it enables GPU acceleration by default if your graphics card supports it...

Power DVD
PowerDVD's new TrueTheater video technology gives movies more intense, natural color and contrast, so you'll see more detail in those extra dark and extra light movie scenes. And the speedy video display rate means that your picture won't be clouded with flawed or blurred images when scenes change rapidly. With this new version, CyberLink took this part of this program up a notch, turning it into premier player for HD and 3D video. The clarity of the sound and video is unlike anything you've seen before one a computer. PowerDVD also includes a free membership to CyberLink’s own online movie community, MoovieLive, where you can find friends with similar film interests. You can also share your movie reviews with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.

At present I mainly use GOM. I find VLC's interface annoying. GOM's is more intuitive. Pressing + and - to change the screen size is fantastic.

Never had a problem with VLC, and you don't need any codecs installed with it.

MPC + K-Lite Mega codec. Only thing that can play 1080p on my old 1.5GHZ machine. Amazing quality when 3pass at 1080p. Thats how Blu-rays are meant to be watched. It also is the only decent player that can "accurately" get 5.1ch audio into 7.1ch.

Will give GOM Player a bash.
I also try ZoomPlayer, and MPC "IF" VLC fails to play a file.

VLC player is the way to go. It can read any media formats without installing additional codecs.
But for more optimum viewing, you can download CCCP or Combined Community Codec Pack. Install it and you can watch any videos using any media players.
