Cats Digital have said they can't actually go lower on the 70-200 L F2.8 lens - but their body is by far the best for a brick and mortar store.

Anyone know who I could call in JHB that is reasonable priced - that I could collect?

Great - I'm envious! Definitely my next big upgrade. Enjoy!
Do you need the frame rate? If not I'd personally go with the 60D. I know some bemoan the non-alloy body but I've yet to destroy my 400D and I've been abusing mine for years! :)

the 60D also handles high ISO better.

It's taken a full of year of jumping between 550D > 60D > 7D > 550D > 600D before actually finally deciding ;)

From what I've read and seen, the IQ of each is almost identical anyway and one wouldn't be able to tell them apart. The difference is purely in the features and the 3 that appeal to me are magnesium body, speed and 19 AF points.

It's actually a really bad time to be buying it now as I have tons of other expenses coming up shortly (bought a property, so laweyers, transfers etc) - but if I do need money in a few months I'll sell it to recoup some. At least I'd have played with it at a concert and 2 weddings at least (that's what I keep telling myself)

Should the unfortunate happen, I'll keep you in mind for the body and lens ;) ... though I'm praying I won't need to!

From what I read, it's extremly marginal on the high ISO.

What I do love about the 60D is the screen - as I have one on my Canon bridge camera and love it!

For a price tag of R6k less I'd even take a "marginal" improvement. :)

I want MA - I'm OCD/anal like that. :p

Also wouldn't mind the AF system.

I do like the tilt LCD screen of the 60D though.

You won't regret your decision.

PS Good luck with the Accesoritis. I'm looking at a 430EX speedlight atm. :)

Fair enough - for some reason I thought you currently shoot with a 550D though.

I do, but it doesn't have MA.

SiriS and I like the exact same things it seems ;)

But back to the actual query - any real shops to try for pricing?

Good luck Dolby on what ever camera you deside to get, personally the 60D stands out more for me, camera bodies are tough and you are not planning on keeping it forever. So good luck & enjoy!!!!!!!!
