So I'm an Absa Wealth client and I'm window shopping at the moment cause lets face it... ABSA is the pits!

So whilst shopping I have spoken to FNB, Investec, RMB and Nedbank and i pretty much qualify for all their top tier accounts. My questions are as follows

1) Is there any difference between RMB Private Bank and FNB Private Wealth? This one honestly baffled me cause everything they offer is exactly the same! Like Twins with different names! Anyone in the know whether one is better than the other or anything?

2) As a holder of Diners Club, Do i benefit anything from American Express here in SA? I battle to find Diners merchants here so what good will amex do for me since thats what nedbank is waving in my face

3) Investec - everyone i have met is sold on this bank. I'm leaning towards it but what is its main advantage over the rest? Their sales pitch was as good as RMB and also FNB (twins!)

Sorry to ask these questions but I've always had an absa account so its like an abusive marriage finally over after 27 years!

Rmb and fnb are just brand differences. The offer is the same pretty much.

Investec or RMB. Not sure why you'd even look at any of the others if you qualify for those & don't mind the fees. The big 4 banks are diluting stuff by pushing people further up the gold/platinum/etc levels as fast as they can. And then surprise surprise people are disappointed by the mass "private banking" lol.

No personal experience with RMB.

Investec is nice in that their callcenter works really well so you never actual need to contact the pvt banker really.

Their loyalty points system is non-existent though so if that's a priority go for RMB

Stay away from FNB = their service (my experience) just went downhill when they began with cellphone contracts and calling you on a weekly basis for one of their offers (loan, cellphone & now legal aid too!!) - very very frustrating.

I myself is looking at Investec.. brother with them for long time and no problems so far..
