Mhuahahaha random Wii prop...
Yes consoles do suck fro FPS but the Wii wont.
/prop

God of War was great.

I have heard very good stuff about Ico and Collosus.
Lastly one of my fave random gameing sites has a big thing for Phyconauts. I havent played it but it'll probably be a bit on the strange side as far as story and gameplay go... you know just difrent.. like Ico

As to invert mouse.... depends on the game. If I feel like I have to look up dan down a lot then I invert(Quake). If it is more slight adjustment for sniping then I sometimes dont(CS). But I am usually confussed anyway so I just play Flight sims, Savage and a bit of DoTa... then I dont worry :)

FPS should stay on PC...

Haven't got a PS2 but I've always liked the Tony Hawk series, Tekken & Time Splitters :)

There are some nice PS2 games that I think could have done well, things like Ratchet and clank, Jak and Daxter..etc

This is a little embarrassing but I also really enjoyed SSX Tricky. Those Ubertricks were the best ever.:D

I share my PS2 with my son, which means I only occasionally get to play and often play the same games as he does.

Here's my list of best games:

All games in the Ratchet & Clank series

Gran Turismo 3 & 4 (Anyone got any comments about Tourist Trophy?)

All games in the Grand Theft Auto Series (Playing Liberty City currently)

Midnight Club 2 (I have MC3, but haven't started yet)

Ape Escape 2 (I have AE3, but haven't started yet)

Buzz (Music Quiz & Big Quiz, recently got these, not sure how long they'll stay on this list)

PS2 Linux (Completed the "hard-drive installation" level, the "linux installation" level and the "starting X windows" level, a bit stuck now though)

EDIT: Forgot about Destroy All Humans and Simpsons Hit & Run.

where did you get the ps2 linux kit from ? as i've been looking for it

I imported one from the US, was only $100. European version was €300!

Unfortunately the US versions are no more. The European versions no longer come with the keyboard & mouse, but you can order them at the reduced price of €119 here:
http://www.linuxplay.com/

(If you already have the network adapter, you can order the installation discs and monitor cable for only €25, will still need to supply your own IDE hard-drive though)

  • Hardware Online Arena (one of the few online games that is actually playable due to the lag)
With regards to FPS games, I agree that the PS2 isn't the best device for playing them but it's worth noting that many of the PS2 FPS games support using a USB mouse and/or keyboard (the PS2 has 2 USB slots).

Favorite hardware
Favorite hacks
With regards to Linux on the PS2, it's not essential to use a monitor cable as there is a trick to getting it to output to a TV. As for the keyboard and mouse, most USB versions should work (I use a Dell keyboard and a Microsoft mouse). There used to be a "Live CD" version of "PS2 Linux" floating around which as far as I'm aware removed the need for the network adapter and hard drive.

Out of interest what are you planning on using PS2 Linux for? One of the hacks for it allows you to backup & restore saved games to and from the hard drive but unfortunately that hack doesn't work when using the hack that allows PS2 Linux to run on the same drive as HD Advance.
