South Africa's best-selling car brands

Toyota is the most popular car brand in South Africa, and by some margin, with the manufacturer selling 62,234 more vehicles in 2022 than the next best-selling brand, Volkswagen.

According to data from the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa), Toyota sold 132,035 cars in 2022 — 90% more than Volkswagen's 69,801 sales. Third place belongs to Suzuki, with 47,078 car sales.

Easily the biggest surprise on that list is Haval rocking up more sales than Kia even & Kia sells well in SA.
Haval compatriot Chery is looking good for an upsetting ‘23, the Tiggo 4 Pro Max Ultra was the 10th best seller last month.

2. Toyota Corolla Cross – 1 834 units

3. Toyota Hi-Ace – 1 539 units

4. Ford Ranger – 1 495 units

5. Volkswagen Polo Vivo – 1 421 units

6. Volkswagen Polo Hatch – 1 365 units

7. Isuzu D-Max – 1 183 units

8. Toyota Starlet – 1 036 units

9. Toyota Urban Cruiser – 945 units

10. Chery Tiggo 4 Pro – 857 units
