Thanks for all replies. Hopefully this thread will be of use to others as well.

After much searching, I have limited my possibilities down to two. They fit my requirements and price sensitivity (I know I said I'll shell out the moneyz, but didn't realise just how expensive brand new models go) :

The Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 from laptopdirect.co.za @ R17 731:

The NEC LaVie Z LZ750 from frikkin' Japan @ ¥120,533 = R12846.53 (excl possible delivery and customs):

The biggest reason I would go for NEC is to save some money; however with customs and delivery fees and the amount of risk involved and because that Lenovo already has 8GB of RAM (and Haswell), I think I will just go with the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2. I don't dig its less than premium materials (I can't have everything for nothing), but it's presentation possibilities are amazing.

And I can obviously still hook it up to an external monitor through the mini hdmi-out, right?

Dear all

I found an I5 4200U option, 8GB, for R2000 cheaper than the one in my previous post. I negotiated a price. I wonder whether there is a big difference between the 4200U and the 4500U?

I don't plan on gaming (have PS4), I don't plan on doing any video editing or photoshopping.

Plan on using a lot of cloud based services in Chrome, keeping multiple tabs open at the same time. Many Zoho services and Google Apps, altogether 7 permanent tabs, plus whatever else Google Docs I am working on and general web browsing tabs. Spreadsheets too.

I will be at least getting the 8GB model Yoga 2 Pro.

In my case, do you guys/girls think there will be a noticeable difference if I don't go for the I7 4500U but instead for the I5 4200U model?

Meh ULP processors are nowhere near as powerful as the proper ones.
I looked at all of that and ended up getting the HP envy 15, proper haswell with 1080p touchscreen.
I couldnt be happier with it.

May I ask, how much did you pay, and where did you buy?
