Best uncapped solution

I purchased the 512 kps uncapped account from Openweb for R1369. It may sound expensive but if you take into account that you can get 4 gig a day, that is not a bad deal. And it surely beats buying all the small accounts every day. The big advantage of the account is that you dont need a Cisko router (you can use your existing one), or any setup fees. Neither do you have to sign any contract. I was a bit worried that I wont get full speed all the time, but I do manage to get 4 gigs a day and even exceed it. If anyone has experience with this account, please share it. Or are there any better alternatives that I dont know of?

so you would be what they categorize as an abusive user :)

I use 4 telkom accounts (R1000) and I always run out of things to download .... There is no ways I can download 4 gigs a day!

The question is how many gigs do you get for those Telkom accounts? And believe me, once you get used to the wonders of Usenet, you have a difficult time to prioritize what you want to download because there are just so many to download!

Seems to be a nice solution. Could you just explain to me what you mean by local vpn and how do you do it?

You create a new vpn connection under windows xp, and you connect to it like a dial up but in this case its an ip address, and you just route all your internet traffic through that vpn and your router will always download local.

Local vpn is a local server connected to the internet with no cap, and all you do is connect to it

is that IS account? I got IS 512 uncapped form another company and it was so terrible I cancelled after 5 days (got full refund - kudos to the guy I dealt with for that) - HTTP was ok and that's it!!!

Download - most of the times it simply timed out, no matter how small the file, upload - if I had to upload like 15 pictures it would time out at least 5-6 times, it was pathetic!!!

Not saying that this is the case with Openweb but you'll have to put a gun to my head to make me try IS again, I use 4 to 6 3Gig Telkom accounts a month, and I'll keep doing so untill something better comes up.

Guys, I dont know if it is an IS account or Saix or whatever. (Maybe that is stated on their webpage). But what I know is that everything is working fine, http, browsing, torrents, newsgroups, downloads (i use flashget). I keep a meticulous record with netmeter so I know exactly what I get. So, I have no complaints because i get a minimum of 50kps download consistently.
